Hull-based GMP Compliance, launched just 5 years ago with a team of two, has grown to over £3m turnover and created jobs for a team of more than 30 full time staff.
The firm, which provides solutions and consultancy services to the Pharmaceutical and Food supplements industry, is one of the top 10 pharmaceutical consultancies in the UK. It has grown turnover and profit consistently for five years and will move into manufacturing this year due to demand, alongside expanding to global operations.
It has recently invested over £600,000 into technical and systems development, capital equipment and training to develop skills and capacity with the support of loans from Humber “responsible finance” provider, Chamber Acorn Fund (Humber) Ltd.
GMP Compliance’s Giby George said: “Were it not for the support from Chamber Acorn Fund who have lent us a combined £325k at pivotal times during our growth, we would not be where we are today. It is vital for SMEs to be able to access timely funding solutions to sustain their growth potential and achieve business objectives. We have actively supported our communities by empowering the knowledge base of our team members as subject matter experts, providing a sustainable business model for growth. Our expansion and diversification into Pharmaceutical manufacturing will provide 100+ jobs in the coming years for our communities and it will create a technically skilled work force in our region.”
